The Ultimate Retro Beach Shack

Our beach shack is located approximately 10km from the centre of Bremer Bay town and overlooks Short Beach. You can walk to the beach in a couple of minutes and views from the house are some of the best on the whole peninsula.

PLEASE NOTE: We only take bookings 6 months in advance as this is our family holiday home. If the calendar appears booked out beyond this point, it's because we're not taking bookings yet. Please don't ask to reserve spots further in advance than this.

Our place is an authentic beach shack with one of the best views in Western Australia. It's the perfect place to relax when you need to get away from everything. The shack is modest in size and is nestled into the landscape, meaning it's always comfortably sheltered from the area's often relentless winds. Owned by an artist, the shack has been almost fully renovated so you'll be cosy and comfortable, whilst being artfully decorated with vintage pieces and paintings (that are for sale :) This is a charming rustic beach shack NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL. If this is what you want, please don't stay here.

PLEASE NOTE: Whilst we try to make every effort to make your stay comfortable, be aware the shack is surrounded by unspoilt nature. On the plus side, this means you might have magical encounters with whales, dolphins, kangaroos and hundreds of bird species. On the downside, keeping unwanted nature (bugs) out of the shack is a constant battle we can never win in such a location.

You'll have walking access to one of the best beaches in the area for swimming, fishing and snorkelling. You'll have a fully equipped kitchen. The lounge room chill out area has a TV, DVDs, cable TV, wifi, soundbar speaker and sub woofer with blue tooth connection. But switch off and discover our huge board game collection! There are 2 double beds (one room can have 3 singles) 2 bathrooms, each with a shower and toilet.

In non-peak times please enquire about discounted rates if you're planning on staying a week or more.

You'll be in the middle of nature, completely surrounded by trees and the ocean. You may get the occasional native visitor (kangaroo). The nearest shop is 10km away so you'll need to bring your own food or catch some down at the beach!

You will need your own transport to get to the property as there is limited public transport to Bremer Bay and none to Short Beach.

The nearest shop (besides the caravan park) has most things you'll need but it is quite small and expensive. If possible, bring your food from Perth or Albany.

Our water supply is precious! We aren't connected to the mains water and use a combination of rain water (for drinking) and collected/soak water for showers/toilets and washing up.

Cleaning is a bit more than you'd expect as our cleaner has to travel from the main town before and after your stay.
